Accountant – Edinburgh – Up to £38,000

An exciting opportunity has gone live with one of our clients in Edinburgh. A successful property developer with over two decades of experience in the property business, the client has expanded into another branch of the industry and are now looking for an Accountant to manage the finance function of this new subsidiary. The role will be based in Edinburgh, full-time and permanent.

You will be responsible for managing the financial transactions, financial report preparation and ensuring compliance with standard accounting principles. You will be a jack of  all trades with exposure to most of, if not, the full finance function in your current role. You will be responsible for:

• Preparing and analysing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
• Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to management
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes

Ideal Candidate Knowledge / Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and a solid understanding of financial management.
• Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, Xero, etc
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and provide insights
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial analysis
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Remuneration: 

• Up to £38,000 salary DOE
• Discretionary performance based bonus
