An exciting opportunity for an experience Accounts Assistant to join my client has become available in Glasgow. Being based in their Head Office, you will be responsible for handling the accounts of a number of companies within the group across a different sectors.

Ideally looking for someone to come in with experience of handling a full set of accounts as you will be solely responsible for the day to day finance processes for up to 6 companies within the group. Joining a team of 5, you will report directly to the Finance Manager who will support you through your work and development with study support being on offer for a candidate wishing to progress their career.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Sales Ledger – Raising ad-hoc Customer invoices/credit notes.
  • Purchase Ledger – processing supplier invoices, payments, and monthly statement reconciliations.
  • Bank Reconciliation – Ensure all transactions are processed daily and appropriately reconciled weekly.
  • Review and maintain accurate Record Management.
  • Prepare accounts to trial balance stage.
  • Assist in the preparation of Management Accounts.
  • Administration of electronic and manual bank records/mandates as required.
  • VAT Return preparation.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
  • Credit Card reconciliation and control.
  • Inter Company reconciliation and control.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have previous experience handling full sets of accounts and experience of all aspects of the finance function.
  • Have working knowledge of MS applications
  • Payroll experience is desirable but not essential

Salary : £28,000 pa
