Contract Assistant Accountant Aberdeen

One of our clients based near Dyce is looking to appoint an experienced Assistant Accountant on a full-time basis for a 12-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity to join an organisation which will help develop your knowledge and skills further within the energy sector. As an Assistant Accountant you will be a key point of contact for other finance personnel. You will also provide guidance to junior members of staff and quickly become a valuable asset to our clients finance team.

 

The key responsibilities include:

  1. Monthly VAT reconciliations
  2. Produce accurate and timely reports
  3. Prepare statutory financial information including, intercompany fixed assets and banking
  4. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, aging analysis and variance analysis
  5. Liaise with internal and external auditors
  6. Continuously look for new ways to improve processes
  7. Ensure all ledgers are complete and meet the standards of accounting regulations
  8. Any ad hoc duties when required

 

The key skills / knowledge required:

  1. Degree qualified
  2. Recognised accounting qualification – or part qualified (ACCA, CIMA etc)
  3. Previous experience liaising with non-financial information
  4. Previous experience of ERP systems
  5. Excellent IT skills including Excel and Word
