OFFSHORE/ONSHORE ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN – ABERDEENSHIRE

We have an exciting opportunity for Offshore Electrical Technician to join our client’s team based out in Aberdeenshire.

This role will involve approximately 90 days offshore, as well as time in the workshop when not offshore. A Daily Offshore Allowance is payable for each day spent offshore, in addition to the annual base pay, which is payable regardless of any days away. The right candidate will already have offshore experience with a current offshore survival (BOSIET or FEOT) certificate.

Under the Mechanical Solutions division the primary functions of this position are to:

  • Ensure all equipment is maintained, tested, labelled, identified, stored safely, calibrated, and packaged appropriately before delivery.
  • Carry out hydraulic and electrical safety tests and commissioning as required.
  • Technicians are generally required to work at our shore-based workshop & to travel to offshore locations to operate, service, maintain, function test and repair, when required, mechanical solutions equipment while on client projects.
  • To mentor and train others as and when skill level is deemed adequate.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for inspection, testing, repair, and preparation of Solutions equipment
  • Ensure all relevant and necessary maintenance activities are carried out at planned intervals/when required and are documented correctly.
  • Inspecting/Testing and servicing equipment returning from hire
  • Commissioning new equipment and premob equipment as required
  • Reporting missing/damaged equipment
  • Complete required paperwork for work carried out either onshore or offshore. Inclusive of, but not limited to maintenance reports, project reports, cutting logs, timesheets, expenses, customer satisfaction, damage reports, preventive actions etc. in a timely manner.
  • Provide Technical support to customers.
  • Attend Mobilisations
  • Provide on call support as and when required.
  • Responsible for the safe operation of all equipment at the worksite in accordance with mechanical solutions QHSE policies and procedures.
  • Work with mechanical solutions equipment either offshore or onshore independently or under supervision. Operate, function test, carry out maintenance activities or repairs as per project requirements / when required or as instructed.
  • Identification of existing hazards at the worksite, considering the surroundings and the prevailing meteorological conditions that could threaten the safety or health of the personnel and/or endanger the preservation of the environment.
  • Adhere to company Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality policies, and industry standards.
  • Follow hierarchy of controls as laid out in company risk assessments for various tasks required to be carried out as required.
  • Interfacing with the client’s representative at the offshore site, for planning, organizing, and executing the work. Participate in toolbox talks.
  • Participate in pre and post job review meetings and ensure risk assessments are completed and reviewed as required. Participate in close out and implementation of corrective actions, resulting from NCR’s and customer complaints.
  • Liaise with QHSE and aid in the investigations and reporting of failures, NCRs and OFI’s.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 technical & vocational qualification (NC/HNC/HND in electrical/mechanical engineering or similar (not Mechanical)
  • 3 years industry experience
  • Track record of experience in a technician role undertaking repair, maintenance and testing, preferably in subsea equipment.
  • Read and implement engineering drawings
