Offshore Operator / Technician (Electrical, Mechanical OR Hydraulic) – Aberdeenshire

Due to continued growth and offshore workload our client are recruiting various Offshore Operator/Technician positions. The successful candidates will be required to mobilise offshore worldwide on an adhoc basis working on Vessels, Platforms and Land-based worksites.

Job Roles and Responsibilities

  • Set-up, install, commission and operate various types of Winches, Hydraulic and Electric HPUs, Reel Drive Systems, Tensioners and many more
  • Carry out function and load tests of Equipment
  • Carry out daily checks of Equipment and ensure all is maintained to a high standard
  • Carry out service of Equipment
  • Carry out fault finding and repair works on Equipment
  • Supervise positing of Equipment, visually inspect and check all sea fastenings
  • Attending unloading of Equipment on worksite
  • Demobilise Equipment onsite and ensure all is secured for transport
  • Assist with completing paperwork while onsite – timesheets, daily reports, pre-start checks, task risk assessments
  • Liaise with clients
  • Assist in workshop as and when required

Qualifications and Skills

Essential:

  • Recognised apprenticeship or vocational qualification in Mechanical or Hydraulic discipline
  • COMPEX EX01-04 (Electrical only)
  • Previous experience in mechanical or hydraulic role servicing and repairing equipment
  • Ability to travel internationally
  • Ability to work as part of a team or individually
  • Good communication skills
  • Self-motivated with attention to detail
  • Can work under pressure to meet deadlines

Preferred but not essential:

  • Previous Offshore Experience operating Winches
  • BOSIET or FOET, MIST & OGUK Medical
  • Yellow Fever and other travel vaccinations
  • Seamans Book or Card
  • GWO Training
  • B1 OCS US Visa
