Payroll Manager (UK) – Aberdeen

Are you an experienced Payroll professional looking for a new challenge? One of our long-standing clients are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to come join them on a full-time basis for 6 months. As a leading energy provider, our client is looking for like-minded individuals who share the same core values as them to ensure growth is maintained. As a Payroll Manager you will be responsible for the overall running of the monthly payroll cycle to all employees within the UK. Additionally, you will be the main point of contact for any Payroll queries.

As a Payroll Manager you will be directly coordinating payroll administrators who support the payroll cycle and you will liaise with outsourced Payroll Technology teams to ensure all systems are working simultaneously and successfully.

The key responsibilities will be but not limited to:

  • Process all monthly UK payroll run
  • Be the first point of call / company lead for UK payroll queries
  • Responsible for the sign off of all payroll changes
  • Directly responsible for Payroll Administrators which support the payroll process
  • Liaise with outsources Payroll Technology providers to ensure all payroll is delivered on time and is accurate
  • Liaise with government authorities to ensure all reporting and annual submissions are provided when required
  • Ensure Payroll are successfully liaising with other functions including HR and Finance to ensure a smooth process
  • Provide any necessary documents to the larger finance team to ensure internal reporting, accounting and third-party requirements are met
  • Responsible for the management of the businesses payroll and employee data as involved in the total end to end payroll process
  • Ensure all payroll data is regularly reconciled for audits
  • Liaise with third party payroll vendors where appropriate

The key skills, experience and knowledge required:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience within a large employee based payroll team
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Previous experience within a large energy provider would be desirable
  • An eye for detail is essential
  • Have the ability to build strong working relationships with employees across the business
  • Previous experience leading a successful team
  • SAP payroll experience is essential
  • Good data handling skills
  • Excellent computer skills including MS office packages
