Permanent Draughtsperson Dundee

Produce design outputs in the form of part drawings, layouts, bills of materials, part specification sheets, material requisitions as required to meet the production schedule. Review design inputs and process repeat orders and design change control requests.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

1. Within your field of competence, carry out the design and drafting activities required to enable the on-time and on-budget supply of product as specified by the design inputs.
2. Provide design and draughting support for machined components within your field of competence to all members of the engineering department.
3. Where requested carry out checking of your colleague’s work including DCRs, repeat packs, drawings, BOMs and specification sheets
4. Work within the departmental systems in accordance with company procedures, ISO9000 quality requirements and legislative demands.
5. Provide technical support within your field of competence to internal and external customers and suppliers, whilst maintaining previously agreed commitments to your supervisor and colleagues.
6. Provide immediate feedback to your manager on any resource, training or academic limitations that would prevent you achieving your targets and responsibilities.
7. Attend and participate in activities out with the engineering department that are identified by your manager and supervisor as being necessary to enable you to fulfil your responsibilities. This can include meetings, training activities, presentations, and site visits.
8. In conjunction with your supervisor, monitor your performance to committed goals, to enable effective system review and process change to drive through continuous efficiency improvement.
9. Where required, a reasonable level of overtime hours should be worked to prevent slippage to committed goals.
10. Ensure you always conduct yourself in a professional manager and in accordance with the terms of your employment as laid down in the company handbook.

Work experience requirements:

1. A minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience.
2. Sound knowledge and experience in 3D solid modelling (Inventor) software packages.

Education Requirements:

1. HNC/HND or Degree qualified in an engineering subject preferred.
