We are currently recruiting for a Hydraulic Technician to work within a manufacturing workshop. The purpose of this role is to provide expert levels of competence in the hydraulics department taking a lead supporting and mentoring others in the department where required.
The normal working hours for the workshop are Monday to Friday, 7am to 3pm. There may be times that shift working is required but this would be advised (inc. weekend). Holiday entitlement 33 days inclusive of all public holidays. 35 days after 5 years of service.
Job Roles & Responsibilities:
- Fully skilled in all aspects of hydraulic hose manufacture, assembly & installation
- Fully skilled in all aspects of manipulation/bending, assembly & installation of fixed tubing
- Identification of all types of low, medium & high-pressure hydraulic fitting & thread type/identification
- Fully skilled & certified to carry out hydrostatic pressure testing of low and medium hydraulic systems
- Fully skilled in start up and commissioning of new hydraulic installations
- Fully skilled in hydraulic system oil flushing and sampling
Qualifications & Skills Required:
Essential:
- Completion of a recognised engineering / trade apprenticeship
- Previous experience in a similar hydraulic technician role
- Ability to read Hydraulic/Pneumatic system drawings and Mechanical Engineering drawings
- Experience in the disassembly, inspection, repair and test of hydraulic components
- Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic control systems
- Practical experience and knowledge in a Hydraulic environment
- Strong knowledge of current Hydraulic engineering techniques and systems
- Ability to organise and manage resources
- Knowledge to correctly identify thread types, hydraulic fittings and components
- Ability to evaluate component condition
- Good communicator with the ability to prioritise workloads
- IT literate with Microsoft Package experience
- Self-motivated with good attention to detail
- Ability to use own initiative but should work well leading a team
- Can work under pressure, set and achieve deadlines
- Experience in training apprentices/trainees and to buddy where necessary
- Pressure testing of new systems
- Oil Flushing / Sampling
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a similar engineering job role
- NFPC training courses in Hydraulic Engineering / Competence
- Ad hoc requirement to work offshore / offsite when required
- Previous experience working offshore
- Has current certification for travelling offshore
