Permanent Production Machinist Aberdeenshire

We are currently looking for a Production Machinist based in Portlethen, Aberdeenshire. Specific experience using Mori Seiki machines is required. Usual working patterns are Mon-Fri day shifts though the ability to work various shift patterns and/or overtime to meet operational requirements is required.

Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

1. Programming, setting and operating CNC Machine Tools to the required standard in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications
2. Working with a range of materials including carbon steel, various stainless steels and some exotic steel. Interpreting engineering drawings and working with imperial and metric measures to ensure dimensional accuracy
3. Using a range of measuring equipment together with working knowledge of inspection procedures to undertake self-inspection
4. Supporting the training of apprentices and trainees
5. Checking all relevant information on Route Cards to ensure correct drawings, material have been issued prior to manufacture of components
6. Signing off relevant sections of Route Card on completion of machining operation

Essential:

1. Specific and Relevant Machining experience in the oil and gas industry
2. Time served, with recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering
3. Competent in the ability to read Engineering drawings
4. Fully skilled CNC Turner and/or Miller, from operator to programming with specific experience using Mori Seiki machines 
5. Proficient in Mori Seiki, Fanuc and/or Mazatrol, including conversational programming
6. Full UK Driving Licence
