We are currently looking to hire a Quality Inspector in a workshop in the Altens area of Aberdeen.

 

Principal Duties

Inspection Responsibilities:

  1. Inspect components in accordance with relevant Process Control Document technical documentation and acceptance standards.
  2. Inspect goods “as received”, “work in progress” and at final acceptance activities.
  3. Ensure all inspection equipment is well maintained, within the stated calibration period, checked prior to use and stored correctly when not in use.
  4. Maintain relevant inspection logbooks.
  5. Ensure adequate stock of consumables including items used for packaging and transportation of customer goods.
  6. Assist the supervisor with production planning when required.
  7. Make efficient use of company resources.

 

Machinist principal duties:

  1. Operate lathe(s), grinding machine(s), lapping machine(s), polishing machine(s) as required, In accordance with the relevant Process Control Document
  2. Carry out routine preventative maintenance of the above listed machines
  3. Maintain machine logbooks.
  4. Ensure adequate stock of consumable parts, cutting tips, cutters, grinding wheels etc.
  5. Assist the Workshop Supervisor with production planning when required.

Personality / Personal Situation:

  1. Minimum 3 Years’ Experience as a Quality Inspector in an Engineering or Manufacturing Industry.
  2. Adheres to safe working practices.
  3. Follows the Company PCD’s (Process Control Documents)
  4. Understands calibration requirement
  5. Correctly interprets Instructions
  6. Uses standard measuring equipment.
  7. Possess product awareness.
  8. Accepts responsibilities as an inspection stamp holder.

 

Qualifications / Experience

  1. minimum of 3 standard grades (or equivalent) at GCSE or above, one of which must be a technical subject

 

Essential (must have):

  1. QHSE Awareness
  2. City and guilds or other reputable training qualification in Technical Design and NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) Level 2
  3. Ability to Interpret Technical Drawings

 

Desirable

  1. FARO or CMM Experience
  2. Oil and Gas equipment experience.
