We are currently looking for a Test & Assembly Technician to join our forward-thinking client. Over the last 15 years the business has grown from a small manufacturing start-up to a market leading engineering, manufacturing and fabrication company and is continuing to expand and shape the business in reaction to leading market trends.
Job Role:
Support the Test and Assembly facility in the provision of onshore and offshore support as per Client and company specifications. Communicate openly with colleagues and supervision/management, promote continual improvement and support to QHSE culture of the business. Adhere to company processes and follow company procedures, instructions and safe working practices.
Key Accountabilities (includes, but not limited to the following):
- All accountabilities are in line with Competency Levels (Level 1 – 4)
- Assembly, modifications, refurbishment and repairs to various oil and gas/subsea related equipment
- Pressure testing of equipment, including hydro testing, gas testing and cleanliness/flushing activities, including provision of information and support
- Fluid sampling to relevant industry standard(s) and client specifications
- Rework/new build workscopes as per drawing, BOM’s and route cards issued to shop
- Operation of mechanical and hydraulically operated tooling
- Adhere to work instructions and complete all relevant documentation, i.e. route cards, pressure test reports
- Compile reports on condition of equipment stripped and missing/new parts required and identification of any spares/shortages required for workshop/workscopes
- Provide input to risk assessments related to equipment and operations and participate in completion of Permit to Work and project TBTs
- Ensure, at all times, projects are progressing in a timely manner in line with the project requirements and quality expectations
- Liaise with customers and third party inspectors on work requirements and provide feedback to
- Workshop Supervision
- Behave in the correct manner, as a company representative, in the presence of client visits within the workplace
- Ensure a high level of housekeeping is maintained and workshop defects/improvements are reported to workshop supervisor
- Use of overhead cranes to move equipment/materials following company Risk Assessment and Lift Plans
- Maintain company equipment in the manner expected
- Actively contribute towards the continual improvement of the IMS utilising Observation Card system or Improvement section of Mango
- Attend all company tool box talks and comply with all requests for training
- Where trained and competent operation of forklift, loading and unloading of deliveries, and banksman/slinging for mobile crane operations
- Complete weekly/monthly checklists within Mango for fire, first aid and machinery as instructed by Workshop Supervision/QHSE
Qualifications/Skills:
- Good secondary education with English and maths as a minimum
- Preferred to have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a mechanical role
- Time management skills
- Good interpersonal skills and team player to accomplish the company objectives
- Knowledge of offshore/subsea equipment and processes preferred
- Able to read drawings and follow procedures issued by Supervisor
- Oil and Gas industry experience is essential
Standard Hours are 7 – 3.30
Overtime as and when required
Occasional shift work and weekends dependant on the project requirements
