Senior Civil Engineer
We are currently looking for an experienced Civil Engineer to come join one of our client’s based in the Central Belt. We are looking for an individual who has vast amounts of experience within the Civil Engineering industry. With a solid order book and a regular flow of projects, KBM’s client is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to come join on a full-time, permanent basis.
As a Senior Civil Engineer you will be a key point of contact within the design team, ensuring projects are completed within time and to the right specifications. You will have excellent knowledge of the industry as a whole and provide guidance and mentoring where necessary to junior staff members. Our client works on high end projects, therefore an eye for details is required.
The key responsibilities include:
- Provide a technical interface with external and internal stakeholders through out the different phases of projects.
- Highlight any health and safety shortfalls with the relevant parties.
- Develop and undertake specific inspections of buildings, structures and systems to determine the adequacy of state against relevant good practise.
- Ensure the preparation of all design calculations, detail drawings, reports and specifications are in accordance with the clients requirements and national standards.
- Implement the relevant Project Quality Plans.
- Monitor the activities of Technicians and drafting staff.
- Attend any relevant Design, Client and Site meetings when required.
The requirements include:
- BEng / MEng Degree in Civil Engineering
- Previous experience within a reputable Civil Engineering organisation.
- Previous experience working on projects including: residential / leisure / commercial etc.
- Experience with SEPA would be beneficial
- Commercial awareness / experience working with clients directly
- Previous experience of Civil Engineer software such as Civils 3D.
- Previous experience of producing drainage strategies and flood risk statement reports in support of planning.
