Role Purpose
The role of Senior Design Draughtsman is to:
- To undertake engineering design work and provide technical solutions to design problems in the field of subsea equipment for offshore energy and marine renewables sectors
- To create new or develop existing 3D models and 2D drawings as required by the Engineering Manager and Design Engineer(s), and manage all within the SolidWorks PDM system, during the execution of engineering projects.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- The creation of 3D models and 2D drawings for new and existing equipment, to the requirement of any project Functional Design Specification or ECN and in accordance with any instruction from Engineering Manager and Design Engineer(s).
- Management of 2D drawings and 3D models in the company’s PDM system.
- Input to design reviews, department/technical meetings and discussions.
- Review and checking of engineering drawings.
- Interface with other Company staff, clients, vendors and technical service suppliers as required to ensure effective completion of project engineering activities.
- Providing project engineering support in manufacture of hardware.
Qualifications
- Discipline: Mechanical Engineering.
- HND, Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Knowledge/Skills
- Experience in design for manufacture, ideally of subsea and marine systems.
- Experience of best manufacturing and fabrication processes.
- Draughting experience
- Proficient user of SolidWorks design package c/w PDM Vault
