Are you an experienced professional Accountant looking for your next career move? We are pleased to be partnering up with one of our long-standing client’s once again to appoint a Senior Financial Accountant to their growing Aberdeen finance team. As a SFA you will be responsible for the smooth running of the finance team and ensure all processes & procedures are maintained. The focus of this role is to collate and interpret high quality financial information to enable precise decision making for the larger business.
As a SFA you will be responsible for a team of two and you will directly report to the CFO. You will be the main point of contact for any financial queries and ensure said queries are dealt with promptly and to a high standard. My client is a forward thinking organisation who are looking for like-minded individuals to ensure business growth is driven from within.
The key responsibilities include:
- Managing and developing a team of two on a daily basis
- Ensure all month end timetabling in complete so deadlines are met
- Prepare budget, forecasting and cash flows
- Prepare and monitor month end reporting
- Prepare monthly management accounts
- Maintain general ledgers and ensure all accounts are reconciled
- Manage AP / AR function
- Prepare and monitor sales, costs and profit reports
- Prepare and submit VAT returns
- Stock counts and reconciliations
- Prepare and participate in year end statutory accounts
- Training / guide junior staff members where necessary
- Balance sheet reconciliation ownership
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders daily
- Support CFO and CEO when required
The key Skills / Experience / Knowledge required:
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) QBE will be considered
- Previous experience within a manufacturing environment will be advantageous
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Manufacturing-based performance metrics knowledge would be advantageous
- Have the ability to present and communicate financial information to non-financial personnel confidently
- Excellent Excel skills
