Senior Structural Engineer

Role Overview:

Reporting to the Discipline Engineering Manager, The Senior Structural Engineer is required to take responsibility for project work assigned to them in support of the company’s core business whilst providing support to graduate engineers.

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities of the Structural Engineer are:

  • Assists in the structural design scopes which involves both temporary and permanent designs
  • Design of sea-fastening and grillage for structures
  • Analysis/design of lift & installation of modules & installation aids
  • Design of subsea structures such as manifolds, valve skids, etc.
  • Review/identify/design of vessel underdeck strengthening
  • Structural design and detailing in accordance with acknowledged industry Codes, Standards and Design Guides (e.g. DNV, Lloyds, AISC, API) & Client Specifications
  • Perform FE design engineering using FEA software packages such as FS2000, STAADPro
  • Develop calculation sheets as required using Mathcad/Excel
  • Prepare technical calculations sheets and reports
  • Liaise with Approval authorities, attend and coordinate mobilisations
  • Review the engineering works performed by other team members
  • Prepare CTRs for work packages
  • Oversee and mentor graduate engineers on technical matters and company/industry standards
  • Interface with other disciplines, clients and third parties on technical project issues

 

Ideal Candidate Profile;

  • University degree level qualified in relevant engineering discipline
  • Experience in similar role
  • Experience in temporary and permanent structural design
  • Familiar with the relevant International standards and Codes of Practice
  • Knowledge of FEA software packages such as FS2000, STAADPro
  • Knowledge of Mathcad
  • Drive and commitment for results to a high standard of excellence
  • Committed to working safely and the safety of colleagues
  • Open, outgoing and friendly personality able to communicate effectively
  • Comfortable working as part of a team or autonomously if required
