Based in Westhill this company is a leading manufacturer of Subsea Tools and Drilling Equipment. They are currently looking for a Warehouse Supervisor to join their ranks and become a vital part of the day to day running of the business.

 

Role Summary

 

Assume responsibility for the efficient running of the warehouse, general maintenance tasks and ensuring that raw materials, components and finished goods are received, checked, marked, stored, issued, packed and delivered correctly. Supervision of warehouse employees.

 

Key Activities

 

  • Confer and coordinate warehouse and despatch activities with all departments.
  • Interface with external and internal customers to answer questions and/or solve problems.
  • Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction through excellence and accuracy in receiving, identifying, marking, packing and despatching of components and finished goods.
  • Ensure accurate receiving, checking, marking and batching in of goods using Sage Line 200.
  • Responsibility for ensuring accuracy for all inventory transactions.
  • Carry out unloading and loading of lorries in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Driving for pick-ups and deliveries as required, with occasional long-distance driving within the UK.
  • Responsibility for purchasing of consumables for the warehouse.
  • Measuring and marking of components and machined items.
  • Carry out periodic stock level checks as required by Logistics and Purchasing Manager.
  • Determine staffing levels and assign workloads to direct reports.
  • Communicate job expectations to direct reports and train/coach as required.
  • Measure and report effectiveness of warehouse and warehouse employee activities.
  • Identify areas of improvement, report and collaborate to amend existing procedures and practices as needed.
  • Ensure Forklift and delivery vehicles are subject to routine maintenance checks.
  • Organise and carry out maintenance and cleaning.
  • Organise collection of recycling and scrap metal.
  • Be an Ambassador for the company internally and externally at all times.

 

Experience / Education

 

Minimum of three year’s previous employment in stores and / or workshop environment Secondary education to minimum level of standard grade in at least 4 subjects. Candidates who can demonstrate a mechanical and hands-on aptitude, coupled with the ability to process and understand paperwork are preferred.

 

Other Tasks: any other reasonable duties as determined by the Logistics and Purchasing Manager or Company Directors.

People reporting to them:

  • Are aware of the risk assessments in place for their activities; this includes task risk assessments, COSHH assessments, noise assessments etc. – and understand the risks and control measures associated with their work activities.
  • Understand their roles and responsibilities so that they can make effective and safe decisions.
  • Know how to report failures in health, safety and environmental matters.
  • Support the company’s ‘safety culture’ and take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of other people who may be affected by their activities while at work.
